    2006 Evinrude motor 40hp 4 stroke

    Have an Evinrude 40hp outboard 4 stroke... today while driving it, it started making a continuous loud clunking/knocking noise... when put in reverse the knocking went away but when back into forward it started the continuous loud knocking/clunking noise...any idea what this might be?

    We had our boat out on lake today and out of nowhere while driving the boat started making a continuous loud clunking/knocking noise..when we put the boat into reverse the noise goes away...but once we start moving forward again we have the continuous clunking/knocking noise...Any ideas what...
