    CDI shorting out

    93 9.9 starts , runs, idles normally. Makes a ticking sound. Noticed spark on coming from the ground wire under the CDI bolted to the block. Looked dangerous near fuel so I quickly shut it off. What's the cause and what's the solution. Can old plugs short ? How do you fix this.

    Can you put a 20HP carb into a 9.9HP

    With an adapter plate ? Where can I buy one ? 96 and up 20HP carb - on a 98 and up 9.9HP block .

    Can a carb from this : Fit in this : Seller claims it's 1990 , but it looks to be 1993+ Will the older carb fit in the newer outboard ?

    64 Evinrude 9.5 HP

    Just picked up a 64 Evinrude 9.5 from a farm. Very hard to start but eventually starts with full throttle in drive & only in full throttle in drive. Will not start in neutral Cleaned / Checked / Gapped the plugs at 0.030 Ultrasonically cleaned the carb. Low idle needle is missing the o-ring...

    Hey just bought this thing from a backyard mechanic The motor hesitates at very low idle But runs nice at higher rpms Can you spot the problems?
