    Hello all, I recently inherited a 1980’s Evinrude Yachtwin 7.5 HP outboard motor from my brother in law. I don’t have a sailboat but do have a 14’ Arkansa Traverler small boat. Was wondering if I could change the lower unit to a shorter unit? Thanks all

Engine runs fine but have a shifter problem. for many years when you put motor into forward it would occasionally pop out of gear into neutral.
