    I have a 1989 454 carbureted Crusader with new electric fuel pump (carter)starts and runs about 5 seconds then quits. Oil cutoff switch is new. If I wire a lead from the positive post directly to battery it still shuts off after running the engine about 5 sec. Could I be losing ground? Defective...

    1989 454 raw water/heat exchanger cleaning help

    I have low seawater output at the exhaust. I've used Barnacle buster in thru the raw water pump but no luck. Does the raw water circulate thru the heat exchanger from the pump as well? Input from the r/w pump is low as well using my flush bucket. It looks like the raw water pump is not sucking...

    fuel pump not working when starting, ignition switch wiring?

    I have a 1989 454 that the electric fuel pump doesn't run when I try to start it, it will run when wired direct to battery. Fuel pump is new, oil pressure sensor is new. Fuel gauge used to work when that switch was turned on, now it doesn't. Could the ignition switch be suspect? I can't find a...

    Crusader 454 1989 runs for 5 seconds then quits.

    My starboard engine starts and runs only about 5-7 sec. before shutting down. The oil pressure sending sensor was replaced last year. I'm showing good oil pressure, could I have a choke stuck or float stuck? Any ideas??? Also, what carb does it use or how to identify?
