    Gear oil check reservoir is it necessary, new (used) Bell housing doesn't have hose

    1996 mercruiser 4.3l alpha one gen 2. I'm replacing the bell housing with a new (used) one that I got off eBay. The one I hl bought doesn't have the house for the oil reservoir. Where you connects (the hose that passes they l through the transom and to the reservoir) just has a brass plug in it...

    96 4.3L Do I need to remove motor to replace gimbal housing

    The Gimbal ring on my 4.3L Mercruiser is broken (someone hit a submerged log with the boat) and so I need to replace it. I bought a complete gimbal housing unit off of ebay. I could either try to remove the gimbal ring from it, or just replace the whole gimbal housing onto the boat...
