    Need control for 1974 Mercury 650 outboard

    I just purchased a 1974 mercury outboard 650 and need a controller. I don't know which type I can use I have read that mercury takes a special cable end for engine side. Or can I use any generic (Newer) controller? Any help would be appreciated
