    Alpha 1 gen 2 mounting gasket

    Ok, replaced bellows, hoses, gimbal, impeller, shift cable.... installed outdrive and got everything hooked up and noticed the edge of the gasket that is next to the water oring squished out the side. I had the o ring glued in with adhesive and installed the gasket dry. What did I do wrong ...

    #1 Shift shaft bushings and seals in bellhousing. Merc manual #14 says to loctite the bushings, then a few pages later says to apply lubricant 101 to od of bushingand install. Which one ? #2 Adhesive on bellhousing end of drive bellows or just the transom end. Read both ways. Merc manual...

    I have a 2005 5.0mpi alpha 1 gen 2 that's all original, meaning nothing's been changed since new. I replaced the manifolds and risers and tune up parts.
