    Sparking ground wire

Today I hooked up the boat to the truck for the first time this year. The trailer lights didn't turn on. The ground wire had been glued to the trailer tongue when I bought it, and it always worked so I left it. I wiggled the ground wire and it came loose. I touched it to a few different spots...

Roller arm screw - should it tighten?

Hello, I have a 1993 Evinrude 150hp Intruder V6, VE150GLETG. The roller arm on the throttle linkage has a screw. Should it tighten? Mine just spins like it is stripped.

Can't remove port temperature sensor. Forget about it?

I've determined the starboard temp sensor is stuck in the closed position. I want to check out the port sensor, but it's stuck in there pretty good, and I'll probably have to break it to get it out. That wire can only take so much tugging. Is there any way to test if it's still a functioning...

    Is this throttle plate okay?

1993 Evinrude 150hp, VE150GLETG. The throttle plate on the left is #1 (starboard). The throttle plate on the right is #2 (port). All three throttle plates on port side (2, 4, and 6) don't appear to close as snugly as the starboard plates. (Please see photo) Is this enough to cause...

'93 Evinrude 150, dies in gear

1993 Evinrude 150hp V6 Intruder Spitfire Series, VE150GLETG. The problem with this outboard has always been (for the 5 months I’ve owned it) stalling when put into forward or reverse. It doesn’t always happen, but 19 out of 20 attempts at shifting, it dies. The last time I had the boat fully...

    How to adjust idle?

Hello, I have a 1993 Evinrude 150hp Intruder Spitfire. VE150GLETG My idea on the muffs, according to the tach at the dash, is up around 1700 RPMs. I cannot for the life of me figure out how to adjust the idle on this motor.

    Motorguide FW-FB, 71lb, 24 volt question

Hello, I recently acquired a bass boat with a Motorguide FW-FB, 24V, 71lbs thrust. It was not connected to any batteries, but will be, as soon as I can figure this out. It's a 24V trolling motor, says so right on the top. But the serial number sticker, on the bottom of the head, says, "VOLTS...

    Rotating outboard instead of hoisting?

Hello, I need to gain a small amount of clearance to remove two steering cables from the outboard. Has anyone tried removing 3 of the 4 mounting bolts, and slightly loosening the 4th, and then rotating up the engine on that one bolt a couple inches? This would give me enough clearance to slide...
