    my guess is both engines have the digital throttle control hardware installed? Also, do you know which ECU you have? Also, any of the optional controls installed - like perfect pass or the cruise...

    without identifying the engine in question, all you get is a best guess...

    no power and popping suggest a lean condition...check fuel pressure for a start...

    could be the coil but I would verify the primary system is pulsing....last time I checked, those coils were EXPENSIVE....

    On the wires, with low usage and proper installation, I'd think you should...

    use the tester on the coil...if that works, sounds like a cap or rotor...pretty sure you have the HVS 'crab cap'...and they are known to have finite lifetimes...if you replace it, use one of the OEM...

    If the EST is connected to an ECU, then the ECU will 'optimize' the timing continuously...

    warmer at idle could be a small restriction or the pump being marginal at low speed...

    based on the plumbing diagram, the exhaust manifold will likely be 'cold'....I'd say it may see up to a 25-30...

    The ESTs, in stand alone mode, have a very steep timing curve and exhibit similar behavior at idle and off idle...

    If the scanner is talking to the ECU, the main relay is engaged...

    the only things in your list that I see is the battery is low...may need cables cleaned or a good charge.

    you can use the iridium plugs...and they should last for years...

    For the boots, they make pliers for that purpose...i usually twist the boots to break them free from the plug's ceramic before...

    If you use the boat with some regularity, using the platinum tipped spark plugs can help extend the maintenance intervals....Caps usually last a few seasons but your history is the best source...

    Check the fuel pressure...it has to be consistent under load as well as at idle...

    a Scan tool to check for codes and verify sensor inputs is another good step...

    pretty sure that's a 555 ECU...I'm pretty certain there is no oil pressure switch controlling the fuel pump on that configuration.

    thats a SENSOR, not a switch...

    Does that engine the the 555 ECU on it?

    you won't see any fuel pump related codes with the MEFI-2....

    Jumping the green/white to ground was not a good thing to do as that could have shorted out the fuel pump driver circuit in the ECU......

    the injectors are controlled as two banks of four...within a given bank, two will be on one head and two will be on the other head...i don't see how an electrical problem screws up all four injectors...

    the part you listed is a sending unit, not a switch...

    I'd be inclined to check for fuel pressure (or lack there of) as a first step...
