Re: New 3.0 in older boat

    That is incorrect.
You are measuring the pressure with the valves closed.
If a loose rocker or other issue not allowing the vlave to fully open would not affect those numbers....

    Therefore...

Re: New 3.0 in older boat

What are the results from having firing order correct?

Why is there posts on adjusting valve/rockers?

Was the engine pre-assembled ? Or did you install the heads?

    If it was preassembled odds...

Re: New 3.0 in older boat

Be careful doing the idle mixture this way.
There are many factors that can influence this method.

I would take the simplest path, do it by max rpm. results are the same but rpm is easier.

Re: New 3.0 in older boat

The way to adjust IDLE MIXTURE is,

set main idle around spec, (650-750 rpm).

adjust idle mixture to achieve highest/smoothest results.

Once done, re-adjust main idle to spec. (final main...

Re: New 3.0 in older boat

If you are using the original 2001 ignition then use the 2001 proceedure and specs.

Regardless of new parts meaning replaced with new not a different ignition!!

What are YOUR manual specs ?

    Re: Sea Ray shift cable

Drop it to 650-750 and retry shifting. The closer to 650 the better
If rpm is to high it can cause the issues you describe

    Re: 1991 to 1997 7.4L Engine Swap

    Note,
If running a 140* thermostat nominal temp under cruise would be very close to 160*

If you were under 1/2 thottle and running at 175* you may have a slight issue.

If you were to run it at...
