Re: MERCATHODE - Bravo3 wires jammed

If you can get the trim mani loose then you'll have a much easier time winkling in new wires for the Mercathode. Stiff fishing line or trimmer string will help act as a wire fish.

Re: MERCATHODE - Bravo3 wires jammed

If the boat is on a trailer, Mercathode is not required. The purpose of the unit is to reduce galvanic corrosion. If the boat sits in the (salt) water all the time, and there is stray current from...
  6. Re: '76 Glasply repower from 160hp 120/140 outdrive to ?

Everyone will probably jump all over me for this but if it were me, I would touch up that area with a Dremel and clean it extremely well so that there's no oil contamination then fill the hole with...
  7. Re: Engine miss and new rattle developed in exhaust manifold

Ricardo you have brought exactly nothing to the thread except your desire to make the OP jump through your hoops. Please just go!
  8. Re: Engine miss and new rattle developed in exhaust manifold

No fuggin kidding! Wow did u think that up all on your own?
Can you possibly be any more of a troll? Post Count!!!
  9. Re: 1991 commander with directional challenges

Good news is that the shifter works. Sounds like someone put the cables back on wrong. While I'm not familiar with Yamaha drives, they appear to be Mercruiser clones to some degree.
  10. Re: Question about emptying carb during periods of non use

Well I'm not the one the admins threatened to ban for this very thing. That would be you. You are already in hot water and don't seem to learn. If you wanna get bounced off the Forum go on with your...
  11. Re: Question about emptying carb during periods of non use

If you are actually going to go through with this folly, then yes you need to fuse the feed to the fuel pump. You should fuse the feed before it goes through the solenoid. Fuses are sized according...
  12. Re: Question about emptying carb during periods of non use

Oh Post Count Rick, thy holy baloney doth so pain my soul. Thine dispiriting guff blowest past me as the merest fog of the new morn. Tis not your threat, excepting of course the threat of leading...

    Re: "Fuse Box"

Probably for lights and stuff if they are 5 amp. Is it possible to follow the wires to their respective switches?
Larger fuses will be for high draw items like bilge pump. Fuses protect the wires,...
  14. Re: Question about emptying carb during periods of non use

No, you have convoluted this issue into one of your pseudo-science projects and overcomplicated a problem that didn't really exist until you stuck your paws in it. This message board would be much...
  15. Re: Question about emptying carb during periods of non use

How did this turn into such a complex sh!t show? Good gawd!
OP you don't need to do anything more than RUN THE BOAT! This will negate pretty much all your problems. If you can't run it in the water...

Re: Where to find a new lower unit Alpha one

Exactly what did you hit? The drives are built to take a whack. Did you crack the housing? Even that isn't the end of the road for these if it's not too badly damaged.
If you just knocked the skeg...

Re: Twin Merc 7.4 MPI Electrical Issue?

Don't bother with anything except converting the steering to full hydraulic.
  20. Re: Starting MerCruiser 5.0 EFI outside the boat

I think you need switched power to the engine harness. You may need to improvise a way to get power to the correct pins inside the plug. There's a pinout guide around here somewhere....
