    You will spend more time engineering this, building it,and then working out the issues than you will if you were to just simply purchase a “C” or later Volvo Penta drive.

    FYI..... most anything that would be O-ring sealed does not require a liquid or paste sealant. This would include flared hose fittings, etc.

    Edit:

    The double bearing PDS can use industry standard 6206 and 6007 bearings
    Get these in a US, Japanese, German, etc, ..... NO Chinese bearings!

    Get your PPS TDC verification out of the way.
    Connect up your strobe light, start the engine and take progressive advance readings at increments of 250 RPM...

    You have no choice but to install the new propeller and then perform a WOT RPM test.
    If the engine is able to reach the OEM WOT RPM and not exceed that by very much, you will likely be OK. ...

    Old rusty, corroded and compromised advancing systems may no longer offer the correct degree of progressive ignition advance.
    Too little, and the engine will not perform...
