    .....and while you are at it, replace the oil in the water/fuel pump housing. It takes "gear oil" i.e., SAE 90. Inspect old oil for contamination.

    Easiest fo disco fuel lines at the pump itself... REmove whole assembly... Issues with the pulley/lock easier to deal with on a work bench...

    NEVER need to take the pulley off to replace the impeller!!!


    1)Remove belt after loosening adjuster on idler pulley.

    2)Disconnect fuel and water lines ( make note, i.e. MARK THEM ...

    Most disti caps have the cylinder number stamped/molded into them for every wire....

    Cable is push/pull system with a clamp on the jacket . If the clamp is loose, then will often work one way and not the other..

    Check... ground cable from battery to engine block.
    ground (and power) leads on the ignition system on the engine block itself
    where does the lift/trim...

    .... and prop rotation does not necessarily indicate engine RH vs LH... Volvo drives support both RH and LH prop rotation with the position of a link under the back cover...

    More likely a carb float issue...i.e. sinking float or bad needle valve.
