Re: Tohatsu 6hp SP - choke problem

"About right" doesn't say much. Check it with a shop tach.
The only way that applying choke cannot advance throttle is if the plastic advancer arm is broken off; I have never seen that in 20 years...

Re: Tohatsu 6hp SP - choke problem

How is the warmed-up idle setting? Two things happen when applying the manual choke: 1. Idle is increased, and 2, the choke butterfly closes, richening the mixture. This is typically only needed when...

Re: Water Flush Kit Install 1988 NS60

Where would you find an 8mm tee fitting? I suppose you could fabricate one.
The pee nipple causes back pressure. Have the pee nipple to the side of the tee. That may work out OK.

Re: Water Flush Kit Install 1988 NS60

Yes, the flushing adapter goes in that 8 mm plug hole while flushing.
You can add a tee fitting to the pee tube for the gauge.
  7. Re: Brushes for 30hp 2 stroke M30A3 starter motor

You will need two + brushes, and 1 - brush:

Re: How to fix starter recoil

That won't work. You need the full length starter rope:

    $12.68

Here is how it's threaded. For full info, see the Factory service manual.

Re: Tohatsu 4 stroke, 4 hp flooding

I would re-check float height and make sure the viton tip on the needle is pristine.

Re: Tohatsu 4 stroke, 4 hp flooding

A different manufacturer = a different (wrong) carb. You need the original Kehin carb.

Re: Tohatsu 4 stroke, 4 hp flooding

Probably an MFS4C, right? Year is irrelecant.
Highly doubtful. The fuel pump makes at most maybe 3 psi. You can check that with a gauge.
When inverted, is the float parallel with the carb casting?...
  12. Re: Tohatsu md50b2, converting from short to longshaft.

Yes. The retainer is probably inaccessible when the power head is installed.
  13. Re: Tohatsu md50b2, converting from short to longshaft.

One housing is for the Big Foot version. The regular extension is intended to extend L to UL of the non-BigFoot version.
  14. Re: Tohatsu md50b2, converting from short to longshaft.

You need L versions of the cam rod, drive shaft, and water pipe. Yes, the extension housing will work.

    Re: Looking to buy

Probably an NS70A2. Relaible. No wp kits available, but bare impellers are. Some carb bits tough to come by. If the price is right, you should be OK. Always do a compression test and sea trial if you...

Re: 3.5 hp needle seat question

There isn't any thermostat, so check temp with an IR gun thermometer. You want around 150F. If a lot more, check that the pump is good, and passages de-crudded. The pee stream should be warm, not...

Re: 3.5 hp needle seat question

The proper kit does include a needle valve seat, but is seldom neded, as the seat is solid brass; The needle has the viton tip.
