Check the bias circuit on replacements boxes as they can change timing.
If throttle is advanced to far it locks recoil to prevent starting
The manual plainly states the connecting rod has no specific orientation..only mention of dots is aligning the rod cap..

I would check the strainers at adapter plate as these are supposed to keep out large debris. I would think you would have had debris in fuel rails and air compressor also..
Shift switch is stuck or cable of of adjustment....
That wont effect the fuel pump as debris cannot enter fuel system...Are the fuel rails getting clogged or the strainers?

Order a oil block off plug(see below), and remove purple wires from oil module, disconnect hose from boat side oil tank to engine fittings and cap off pressure fitting on crankcase..
