Electronic / electrical parts availability can be an issue for newer motors.
An E-tec is a 2 stroke motor.-----Hard to figure out how a stator and fuel pump are both defective.----Fuel pump diaphragm is about $16.00.----But check and see if stator is available.
The one side just goes in a hole in that arm.-----The other side slides in a groove on a post.------
Does the motor have the copper / bronze decals ?----Canada is fairly big I heard.----Takes me 24 Hrs driving to get out of Ontario if heading west.----If impeller has not been replaced recently you...
-I do not believe you should start " messing " with springs.
It needs a new a new impeller !----Find it right here on this site.------" engine diagrams "-----And just a few clicks.
So it has the copper / bronze colored decals ?-----Start with a compression test.----Post the numbers here.-----And it will need a new water pump impeller.-----Most of those I look at have an...
Well----I thought it was a spark issue in post #2
Inspection and testing is what you have to do.
Your compression is way too low.----Test with another gauge.------Or compared to all the money and frustration a head gasket is cheap , cheap.----Pull the head off and have a look at cylinder walls
Use heat ( boiling water ) and bearing can easily be removed I think. --- long punch and small hammer.
You get what you pay for.------Your location ?-----If in Cansda-----evinrudeparts.ca -----might help you.
Post a picture of the control box.----Most have a feature to disable the shift and open throttle for starting !-----A knob you pull out perhaps.----But I can not see your set-up.
Normal.
A maximum ignition output test should be done.---Set gaps on a test device at 7/16" ------Do it cold and perhaps when motor falters.--------Leave plugs in.-----Crank motor over and observe spark.
Look above the propeller.
Just go to a hardware store and get a stainless bolt.----Why would they not take any torque ??
Is the lower shift rod fully screwed into the lower unit ?-----And you may have to adjust the upper shift rod.
There is a tapered friction piece way up inside the throttle grip.
When testing maximum ignition output you do not use the sparkplugs.----And the sparkplugs are not used when doing this testing.---Sparkplug gap has nothing to do with this test.----You use a testing...
