Pull carb, and check float, needle and seat
Go to CDI electronics.com for troubleshooting
Make sure you bring some elbow grease
double post
Automobiles have a closed fuel system,it's pressurized, Moisture can't get in. Boats do not have this luxury
Try placing garden hose directly to water tube, pull thermostat housing off, start engine, water should gush out of housing if everything is intact
The old fashioned cylinder drop test
Do a compression test before anything else
Well done
check all fuses on engine and under dash
auto parts store has that oil
this solenoid bypasses the carbs. by directing fuel straight to intake ports for cold starting, It will have no effect on wide open throttle. Are throttle plates opening up all the way,horizontal...
Try pumping the primer bulb while she's running, this would compensate for a fuel restriction or weak fuel pump
Port side of engine, need to buy a shop manual, when you push in key a clicking should be heard on that solenoid, Acts like a chocke
74Merc50, Is your anti-Ventilation plate level with lowest point of the bottom of hull?
Happy boating!!!
Buy a shop manual
pull a bowl off one of the carbs. see if fuel is there
run a compression test before buying
If you are running ethanol fuel you need to drain fuel bowls if engine is going to sit that long
