Re: 2003 Bf255 stalled and will not start.

I assume there was no water in the Racor - Correct?

The only thing running in blue dye would prove is that it's not coming from your fuel tank. But if you drained the Racor and there is no water,...

I got your e-mail and replied with SB #56 attached.
  4. Re: Milky oil coming out of 04 Honda 225 intake

The most likely culprit is a failed seal on the water tube as it travels through the oil pan. See item 6 at:

You said: "when tilting the motor, milky brownish oil came out of the intake."

Are you talking about the two water intakes on the bottom of the leg?
  6. Re: One spark plug is too clean - modified exhaust tube time

Yep - I see what you mean. But it doesn't seem too bad. The fact that you are blowing HO2 sensors on a regular basis tells you it's time to change out those exhaust tubes.

    Re: BF225 sparkplug rethreading

James - there is a problem with the design of the original exhaust tubes that allows water to get sucked into the bottom two cylinders under certain circumstances. It is all covered in Honda Service...

    Re: 02-03 BF225 honda

Could be the ECU, but it's very rare that they fail, at least according to the postings on this Forum over the last 10 years or so. And if you go through all the diagnostics in Chapter 5 of the Helm...

    Re: 02-03 BF225 honda

I guess my first question is how are you checking for spark?

Did you check all of the fuses? Especially the 15A #6 and the 30A #7. Pull them and test for continuity across the contacts.

Re: 2003 Bf255 stalled and will not start.

Glad you found the problem. It is possible that you have a leak in the raw water cooling jacket on the VST. You should pull the VST, remove the water jacket and thoroughly inspect the area where the...

Re: 2003 Bf255 stalled and will not start.

No, it is not a common occurrence if the timing belt is checked and adjusted on a regular basis. If you do find it skipped a notch, then your next step is a compression test to make sure you did not...

7 = Throttle Position Sensor, 24 = Overheat sensor 1 - the one on the top of the starboard side manifold. First thing to do is check and clean connections to both sensors. Then reset CPU and try...
  14. Re: Fibreglass hull painting following repair

It's been my experience that Gelcoat does not adhere well to marine filler. You may want to consider one of these new epoxy hull paints. I've heard that they actually hold up better than gelcoat and...

    Re: Honda Dr H Diagnostics

It is my understanding that it is BRP that makes the OEM Dr. H for Honda. If I recall correctly several folks on this forum have purchased it from BRP. Hopefully they will speak up about the process.

    Re: Milky gear oil...

Yep - that was a bit of luck. I would change the gear oil again after, say, 50 hours or so, then check it at every 100 hours thereafter.

    Re: 2002 200hp tilt fluid/

Pull the TDC sensor 4P plug and measure resistance across the TD1 sensor terminals - the green and red wires. According to the manual, it should be 2000 +/- 500 ohms. If out of spec, replace it.
