  1. Re: Starting problem, Mariner 50HP 1992 2stroke

Because most Mercury outboards put the oil in the line ahead of the fuel pump. That means if the fuel is disconnected it will keep pumping oil into the line. So if you pull the fuel line you are just...

Re: Voltage spikes on Mariner 115 Hk -93

Your stator may have been changed and that is the adaptor.
  3. Re: Starting problem, Mariner 50HP 1992 2stroke

Re: Voltage spikes on Mariner 115 Hk -93

Voltage fluctuations are absolutely normal. Easiest way to prove it is to watch the headlight of an older carbed snowmobile. It flickers and everyone of those flickers is a voltage fluctuation. How...

Sounds like.you have problems that arent there. Why would you not have voltage spikes?
  8. Re: Lower unit: stud on one side, bolt on the other?

No big deal if they loosen up and come out. Just thread them back in like a bolt.
  9. Re: 1986 60 HP Evinrude Water Pump question

I looked up the part # you should have got the driveshaft oring. 1 3/8 oring I believe goes up in the housing.
  10. Re: 1986 60 HP Evinrude Water Pump question

According to the pic you should have the one for the drive shaft. The bigger on I believe goes into the pump housing. Between the liner and the housing itself.

    Re: 1984 mercury 60 hp 3 cyl

Are you sure that is gear lube and not the fuel oil mix being mixed with the water. Yes there is a seal under the waterpump housing.
  12. Re: 1997 Mercury 20 hp 2 stroke charging system

It will work fine for those accessories. Just not a trolling motor or anything with a really high draw.

    Re: Adding fluid t T and T

What motor are you working on? Most Evinrude/Johnson fill procedures are motor tilted all the way up, then take out the screw on the tank and fill until fluid comes out. Then run up and down 5 times...

May want to look at a manual to see whats recommended for a particular motor.
  15. Re: 1997 Mercury 20 hp 2 stroke charging system

As long as it is a Mercury built motor it will fit.
  16. Re: 15 hp carburetor flooding after rebuild

    I live in WI.
  17. Re: 15 hp carburetor flooding after rebuild

You should mention the cleaning effects of Ethanol. Just don't use the gray fuel hose with it. I use 10% ethanol in all my outboards keeps the fuel system squeeky clean.
  18. Re: 15 hp carburetor flooding after rebuild

Make sure your tank and line are in good condition. Run a fuel system cleaner with every tank.

Re: Newbie in Ireland in trouble 😆

Those screws should have washers on them so replace those first. The stuff coming out of the prop could be the exhaust mixed with water which is normal.

Re: Newbie in Ireland in trouble 😆

1984 model. Is this coming out of the lower unit when you drained it? Or is it coming out of the propeller? If it is coming out of the propeller it is probably normal. If it is coming out of the...
