A lot of the Gray 'sixes' of the mid size were based on the Continental 226CID engine. Gray put one & two carbs on the same engine for different hp's.

Can you post a picture? here is easier than...
  2. Re: Gray marine engine conversion from Continental Star M5

If you post over there I might well be one of the people to see you question. .... I have to say, I don't know if Continental engines were used that early, certainly in the 30's yes.

A bit late but,..... I might also suggest that a side to side misalignment might indicate a bent strut.
  6. Re: 1957 Chrysler Crown generator voltage regulators

Still chasing this problem. Unfortunately a conversion to an alternator is not a option. These generators are gear driven off the timing gear (there are no V-belts or pulleys on these engines. ...

Re: What Gray Marine Engine do I. Have?

I'm guessing that is a flat head six that is probably based on the 226 CID Continental industrial engine. you should be able to find "226" cast into the block near the oil pan flange, probably under...

    Re: Seeking Graymarine 4-112 replacement

Your little Graymarine is based on a Continental industrial engine (fork lifts, compressors, generators, welders, etc). Once you identify what model Continental engine it is you should be able to...

Re: Gray Marine 6 inline approx 1955

A couple of things, either the engine is a Chris Craft (Hercules engine converted by Chris Craft), or a Graymarine (Continental engine converted by Graymarine). Either way, I presume this is a...

    Re: Gray marine gas

The "109" is based on the Continental "F226" industrial engine (226 CID) and that is how you need to have it looked up at your local auto parts store to find parts.
  15. Re: 1949 Chrysler Crown engine -- part no. and supplier questions

A bit late for a reply, ....... I don't think anyone makes new manifolds for the Crown or Ace. (the link above is to Barr marine, and they do not make them any more)
