I should have said earlier that the fracture was on the inside surface of the transom. The boat shop said to install the plate onto the inside surface. The outside surface of the transom might still...
O.K. I’ll give it a try. Thanks.
The transom on this Bayliner Cuddy Capri had a fracture and a repair was made by injecting epoxy into the transom and laminating
the damaged area with heavy fiberglass mat. A local boat shop in...
Need to determine what is serviceable and what is repairable. To drop that outdrive, I'm guessing the steering linkage, wiring to the tilt motor, all sterndrive to motor bolts need to be...
I just heard from someone at “Sea Ray”….very likely it’s a 1975 “SRV 200” Day Cruiser. Thanks!
Yeah…seems like a good idea…thanks.
Yeah, “racerone”, could be. The mechanic at the Lakeside boat shop in Arizona was asking about any “chunks” of metal in the lower unit. He also said to drain the gearbox and check the gear oil. I’m...
The 302 c.i. motor on this 1975 sterndrive in not turning over and seems stuck. The starter was removed and seems to be perfectly o.k. When parked, the motor and sterndrive were supposedly o.k. The...

Thanks….still trying to find a freeze plug with m/n information. That very well may be a m/n to use for supplies.
Recently acquired a 1975 Sea Ray with a Ford 302 motor and OMC sterndrive. Registration says its a 1975 Sea Ray Day Cruiser. Only one serial number plate has been found on the drive train. From...
It is the right stator for this motor. Had to inspect and realign the factory fittings to the motor and insulate the coils with epoxy. It started and idled o.k.
"Fl....scott" , never liked your tone in this conversation. I don't need any more comments from you on my thread. So please desist. I'm fine with a difference of opinion.
At least they start and idle at the proper temperature now!!! Anyway, a boat shop mechanic told me 50 h.p. is fine for light cruising in that boat. I also got the 85 h.p. Evinrude for a second motor....
Yeah. O.K. I’ll recheck my tank and setup. Thanks.
Motors were decarbonized with “Star Tron” decarbonizer and cooling systems were repaired. Temps. were read while motors were idling in a 55 gallon barrel of water.
Here’s the URL for the...
O.K. Thanks. I got "PowerTune"...I'll give that a try...thanks for all the advice.
This is a 1976 Mercury 7.5 h.p. 2 cyl. outboard that read about 50 to 55 p.s.i. on each cylinder. Seems to start and idle o.k. Eventually, I guess it will ultimately fail, and I’ll have to repair or...
