    Have you tried opening the low speed mixture needles 1/8th turn at a time ?---That has proven to be a " no money spent fix " on many motors !----And what motor are you working on ?

    A motor in good condition start right up on first attempt.----Prime bulb.----Raise fast idle lever.----Push key in and hold it in while cranking it over.

    Those compression numbers are not encouraging.----But are the orange / blue stripe wires ( powerpack to coils ) on the top cylinders on both sides of the engine ??

    The trouble shooting starts with a compression test.-----These motors are " world famous " in my yard for broken piston rings.----Post your numbers.

    The high speed jets ( orifice plugs ) are inside the carburetor bowl.-------Found way inside after taking the drain screw out.------A 3/16" diameter screwdriver may work or modify one to take them...

    Somebody ran that motor with no cooling water to the impeller.----This seems to be getting more common.---Looked at 2 70 HP motors within the last 2 weeks where impellers were destroyed running dry !!

    Test run with a timing light hooked to one cylinder at a time.----Observe the flashing light and look for possible spark issues.

    Stop running the engine.-----Using the choke may mean a carburetor is partially plugged.----You risk damage from running lean.-----No fuel means no oil going to 1 cylinder perhaps.

    Using the primer valve puts extra fuel into the engine.----This fuel bypasses the metering circuits in the carburetors.----This points to problems in the carburetors.-------And you must understand...
