    SOLVED!

    Replaced coil, problem remained

    Checked spark plug wires and #5 and #7 were crossed over on the distributor cap, so the firing order was wrong!

    Switched wires around and engine runs...

    Got the pick-up coil removed, it looked pretty beat up, got a new one and installed in there, i will test the engine tomorrow

    You can NOT run this engine at the supercharger disengagement point. That is sure to cause surging. Just power thru that 2600-2900 range, and all is good in 3100+ (where your cruise should be, 3200)....

    It turns out ECM is fine. Most things pointed to ignition issue. I ohmed out resistance in the ignition coil, and it was out of spec. I replaced it with new....
