    Yes it can be welded but It has to be a certain length I think it is 6 and 7/8"

    Acording to the serial number Your motor is a 1962. Reverse the
    first two numbers of the serial.
    The two pins are spare sheer/drive pins for the propellar.
    I'm not sure about the carb...

    it makes it easier.

    That motor needs 16to1 mix!
    It has plain bronze bearings and they need oil.
    The newer motors with roller bearings can survive on 50/1.
    Todays oils are cleaner and don't produce carbon like...

    35hp motor.
    That should be a good sized motor.

    like Kroil or something other than wd40.

    Go to a home center like Home depot and get the blue or pink insulation board.
    It's like styrofoam but it's a closed cell plastic. It won't absorb water.

    50to1 might be to light on oil if it's an older motor. If in doubt start...
