You don't have to be sorry, your entitled to your opinion and you might be right. Still don't know if the head was pulled, how long it was rev'd in the barrel, or how the barrel was setup. I would...

Shouldn't do that. Sounds like a leak in the exhaust as it enters the leg. Did you pull the power head and not replace the gasket?
Joe that tester is a great idea! I made mine with a ford dist. cap. I agree, sounds like a wire shorting out when the linkage is moved, He might try it in the dark (night).
This is interesting. I have check model number 35028 on several web sites, and Hunns book, and all but marineengine.comm list this as a 1962 40hp Evenrude. Just google the number if interested.
Based on the model number being GG8834A, you have a 1960 Montgemry Wards "Sea King" made by Gale. It is 25 hp. Usually the same year/hp evinrde/johnson parts will work for ign, carb, impellers, but...
Interesting Scott, I've near seen one leak like that. But overall, now your a PRO at replaceing the pump and you have all the tools!:)
Don't beat yourself up too bad Scott, we've all had to pay tuition to learn something! The TBI system uses 5-6 psi as the NA uses 3-4 in most cases. Where was your original pump leaking from? I have...
Hi Scott, not familiar with your setup, nor what is in your "replacement kit". But with electric fuel pump installations, you wll usually need Locktite Thread Sealer and "O" rings. These might be in...
Its obvious you like the SeaRay best. Check the hulls for blisters, gelcoat problems and dryrot in the transoms and stringers, particularly around the motor mounts! Upholstrey work is expensive (I...
Mounting the thruhulls as high as possible is great in theory but has some problems in the real world. The higher you mount the thruhull in relation to the pump discharge, the more head (the measured...
Thruhulls should always be equipped with a seacock for safety and maintenance purposes. Be sure to mount them well above the waterline and reinforce the hull core, then seal, seal, seal! Discharge...
Should work fine as long as none of the pumps exceed the stated amperage for each circuit.
We used a matchbook cover to set the points, a dime to gap the plug, and a dollar bill to clean the points! I don't think the new dollar bills are as abrasive as they use to be, they seem to slip...
It's a 1948-49 model made by Gale for Montgomery Ward. Pretty common, worth between $50 to $150 based on condition, book says $75.
Thanks for the replys! I found that Toon-Brite this morning just before I saw your message, looks like it is what I am looking for. I have the same concern about dewaxing, but I don't think acetone...
Thanks for the reply CHawk. Do you have the name of a specific product?
I have a 18' 1985 HydroSport with the stock metallic graffic on the side. The stick-on decal is in great shape except for the fact that the clear surface has been removed. With out this surface I am ...
I like your idea, but how do you plan to get the motor off the lift and on the ground?
It was most likely caused by a low voltage issue which caused the pump to draw more amperage which over heated the contract points and welded them together. Corroded relay points, dirty contectors at...
Hi guys, looking for an opinon. I have a 1996 Sunbird 2000 with a Volvo-Penta 4.3gs and SX Cobra outdrive, which I have run for 3 seasons. Engine is running good, but if I touch the shift/throttle...
