" This message is obviously long after the original message was posted, so it is mostly intended for the readers. Many OMC drive shift linkages are not adjusted properly - I had a NEW drive that...
" Marcus,
If the drive was leaking for a while you may have a real problem, but to give a little encouragement - fill up the drive with cheap fluid and try starting it. It is possible that...
" Unless you have the wrong pitched prop, which you probably already have verified, I would recommend trying a rebuild on the carburator. The accelerator pump could be shot or one of internal gaskets...
"Check with Scott at coclay@shaw.ca tell him Jeremy sent you, he is away until Saturday but I know he has a LOT of old outboard parts."
" Just dipping a carb in cleaner will not clean it properly. You need to use compressed air to clean passages, jets etc. If you post the serial/model number one of the board gurus might be able to...
" I believe all that is is oil/fuel that has not been burnt. Nothing to worry about unless it gets excessive. Check your fuel/oil mixture, should be 50/1. "

It DOES NOT work for this application.
"I live in Victoria BC Sushi and would be happy to have a look at it for you. I have worked on outboards for the last 16 years and tinkered with engines in general for 26 years. Drop me a line if...
" Thanks Aldo, there are four different versions of this engine and the manual I have is a little confusing about specs for individual engines. I will give it a go with those specs, thanks again. "
" Take the steering linkage arm off and undo the large nut on the end of the motor steering tube. A lot of times if there is no room to withdraw the steering cable 'shaft', on smaller boats you come...
" The counter rotating legs are hard to find, but not impossible, good luck. Thanks Merc Dude. "
Coil...?
You need to obtain a 'counter-rotating ' leg..
Possible leak in the trim motor..? Or if you are running a 'rich' fuel/oil mixture it might be the residual oil that has not been burnt...?
" Did you make sure the water tube was lined up with the impeller housing outlet when you re-installed the leg? Another possibility is the rubber grommet on the end of the water tube might be...
