    The fix in those cases is a (fuel) Demand Valve...

    it is checking the timing as a function of RPM...and a clip on (inductive) timing light is usually best...

    The Dwell Meter measures the point gap indirectly...and that setting has to be correct...

    the oil pressure switch is usually down on the block, just above the oil pan rail, where the oil filter adapter is...i would check its function with a test light vs just changing it...you could also...

    sure there is a reason...you just need to figure it out.

    I'd be inclined to start with a test light on the fuel pump...the oil pressure safety switches are known to have finite lifetimes...
