    Re: 2012? BF225 blowing fuse #11

I don't know what you have, but on my 2007 BF 225 there are only 7 fuses, labeled 1 - 7. See attached. Post a picture.

  2. Re: Honda outboards and others: managing salt crystal build-up in outboard cooling pathways

My experience tells me that flushing with fresh water immediately after the engine is shut down and still hot, is fairly effective. I am fortunate that I have my own boat lift, so as soon as I have...

  4. Re: 2004 BF200 wire harness dead and is obolete

We are all assuming that you are talking about the internal harness - the one under the engine cover, and not the one that feeds up to the console. Is that correct?

    Have you personally checked the...
  5. Re: 2004 BF200 wire harness dead and is obolete

Are you talking about the main harness inside the engine cover, PN 32100-ZY2-010, or the harness from the engine to the console and key switch? Or do you know?

Normally, a short will occur in the...

    Re: power tilt problem

FYI - The replacement T/T motor, PN 36120-ZV5-821, is $305.55 on www.boats.net. Which is about the cheapest your will find it.

However, the API equivalent is PT302NM. You can find it on all over...

    Re: power tilt problem

    Alan,

Yes, now that you pointed that out, that is what we did. It allows you to tilt up the motor high enough to get to the bolts holding the T/T motor in place.

    Re: power tilt problem

Several years ago, I helped a friend change out the T/T motor on a 2000 Honda 50. My memory is a bit foggy, but it seems that there is a way to change out that motor without having to remove one of...

Re: BF200 low pressure fuel pump

Based on the added description, my initial thought is a fuel line restriction or air being drawn into the fuel line under high demand.

When the engine starts dropping off, have someone rapidly...

Re: BF200 low pressure fuel pump

Based on posts on this site, it seems that different engines will maintain the fuel level in the LP filter at different levels - I have no idea why.

Provide more detail on "losing power." What is...

Re: 225 Running hot at high RPM

Roger that. I'm out of ideas. Hopefully others will chirp in....

Still think a good long run at higher rpm's may help the situation, but that is pure speculation.

Re: 225 Running hot at high RPM

    OK. That's good.

Block temp (ECM) should stay in the range of 194 - 212F, depending on the temperature of the water you are running in. Alarm should sound at around 230F. So, assuming your NMEA...

Re: 225 Running hot at high RPM

When you pulled the 400 & 800 hour service, did you change just the water pump impellors, or the entire water pump?

If just the impellors, then that might be the problem. The liner that the...

Re: 2007 BF225A Question before buy

    Yes.

But first call Honda customer service with your serial number and see if Service Bulletin #56 has been performed on this engine while under warranty. Phone number is: 770-497-6400.

Re: 2007 BF225A Question before buy

Based on the SN you posted, boats.net says it's a 2006 model.

If really only 97 hours, then you could have some issues because that engine has sat around for 15 years with very little usage. It...

    Re: BF 200 oil leak

When is the last time you changed the oil filter? On these engines, it's darn near impossible to get a clean removal and installation of a new filter. Consequently, old oil will pool under the filter...

Re: 200/400 hr service on BF200

    Sounds good. Excellent maintenance.

I assume that you checked the throttle linkage and greased the throttle cables at the contact points and cams.

Other things on my personal maintenance...
