Help identify distributor (pics) for Mercruiser 5.7L competition ski motor

Hey all. I recently bought a 1990 Sanger Ski boat with a Mercruiser 5.7L inboard direct drive motor. According to the motor serial (0C771828) the engine's model # is 3579111CS.

I thought I had the Mallory distributor so I ordered Pertronix electronic ignition kit part # MC-181 to replace the points. However, it does not appear to be the right kit after diving in to do the swap.

I can't figure out which distributor I have as there does not appear to be any identifying marks on it anywhere other than the SAE decal. Can any of you help identify which distributor this is and perhaps even which Pertronix kit I would need?

That is an old Mallory YL unit! It's painted black like what Merc did years ago.

I would not convert using the Pertronix junk!!!!

I agree what is the reason your getting rid of the points? Set the points using a dwell meter and check the progressive spark advance. If it is within spec run with it.
