Johnson System Check

I have a 2005 Johnson 2 stroke engine. I sometimes get a system check (leds sequence and it beeps) when running the boat. How can I troubleshoot this problem?

#1 Which light is illuminated?
NO OIL
HOT
CHECK ENGINE
LOW OIL

#2 What is the horn sequence?
Continuous
On/Off
If On/Off, what pattern?

you need to post answers to both of these questions first and then we can help more. The light that's illuminated and the horn sequence translate to different failures to check.

If it is going through the sequence while the engine is running, the gauge is bad or you have a loose connection.

Right, I did not catch that in the OP's post.

On start up the system is supposed to beep and then go through the lights in sequence. If it's doing that sequence while the engine is running you have something wrong electrically.
