Hello boaters, I have a catalina 251 1979 it has a 305k engine, but the original engine had a crack in the block, i was wondering if a 327k engine would fit in the engine bay which originally held the 305k maybe new mounts???? please help

Yes. Looking at the flywheel (back of the engine) CCW is standard rotation. CW is right hand or reverse rotation. With the year of his Chris Craft his engine should not be flywheel forward and may be a Reverse rotation engine.

Standard LH Rotation is same as automotive.

BTW, you can very likely build a SBC Marine 5.7L more cost effectively than you will be able to build a 327.

The 5.7L is the way to go. I had a 1969 w/ 327Q . Not much more top end but was defiantly better on fuel. The engine won't work as hard. Everything was a direct easy swap didn't have to modify a thing. I bought brand new
"Pro-Formance Marine" engines.
