U-joint Bellow install

1988 4.3 Alpha One, gen 1. On the u-joint bellow there are 2 flat spots on the last rib at one end of the bellow. Where do they go? towards the transome or toward the drive? There is a metal clip on each of the bellow, where do they go? up or down?
