Johnson 40hp elecromatic, runs but won't restart

Ok A-Team,
I got the ole girl running, 10+ minutes no issues. Shut her down and the try to restart and it is a no go. Doesn't smell flooded everything seems good, any ideas?

Does spark jump a gap of 1/4" ( 8 mm ) or more, yes or no ?---Or just not sure why that test should be done ?

Typical symptom of bad coils, but that is jumping to conclusions.

Could that be because the coils get to warm, just wondering?

Just do the testing.

Old OMC coils are notorious for age-cracking, that's why we automatically assume. Besides, we don't know whether yours are original or replaced last week. And also why racer said check the spark. BTW, old cracked coils can throw a weak spark, but not run. But nevertheless, a spark check is the first place to go.
