1988 FORCE 50 No water

I've read on YouTube that the water pump on this motor doesn't do well with muffs, but it has always worked for me. Cooling system worked last time I had the boat out 2-3 years ago.

I recently tested the motor with muffs in preparation for the upcoming season: No water spitting out as usual.

I replaced the impeller, which was badly worn but still intact. The new impeller arms are bent clockwise when looking from underneath pump housing. Still no water coming out with muffs OR 55 gal drum filled to several inches above water pump. No exhaust coming out "exhaust snout" into water either, if that matters.

I shot compressed air into each water port with my thumb covering the other port. Lots of air bubbles coming out "exhaust snout". That would indicate there's no blockage in water lines, correct?

I've had the lower unit off this motor 3 times now trying to solve this issue. Any suggestions?

IF??? the last time you used the boat was 2-3 years ago, the exhaust could be clogged with bugs and their nests.
Wasps build mud nests for their young inside about every hole they can climb into.
The new pump will have bent vanes on the impeller when installed.
The 50 doesn't always work with the regular muffs and if there's any restriction(bugs) the pump might not work at all???
No exhaust from the snout?? If the motors running there has to be exhaust coming from the snout as that's where 99% of the exhaust comes from. The rest can come from the holes in the mid section of the motor. BUT!! those holes could be clogged from very tiny wasps.

Try back flushing the exhaust , might need to remove the thermostat and flush there too.
As you flush look for mud and dead bugs in the water.
