Classic 50 and 35hp interchange

I have an 80's mercury 35HP that looks amost identical to the classic fifty I have. I was going to sell the 35 since it has a possible reed issue but now wondering how many parts will interchange with the classic? Anybody know? I might just strip the parts out that interchange. Thanks

It looked like the entire lower unit swaps, same starter, and some other odds and ends would swap. Not the case?

Post the serial numbers of the 2 motors.----Starters may look the same , but may not have the same capacity.
