Eaton trim motor 75 hp mrec connector plate to pump

I'm replacing the electric trim motor on my 1985 75hp mercury outboard and the part came with a round silver plate covering bottom of electric trim motor but it is not shown in any diagram ,is it there for shipping or is it needed,please help
