Coming up on my 1200 hr service and trying to figure out what parts/tools I need as the 1200hr is new territory for me...
Sounds like quite a complex set of steps digging into timing belt and pulling injectors etc. It seems doable if I take my time with it all, but then I just read this additional note in @chawk_man's spreadsheet :
"At 1200 hours it is recommended that the end play in the crankshaft thrust bearing be checked. Typically, you want to rely on a full service shop to do this. Maximum play = 0.0186 inches or 4 mm"
What's involved in checking this thrust bearing play? If I take to dealer will them end up stripping a lot of stuff down to get there, that I may as-well have them do the other service items at the same time?
