1200hr service on BF225

Coming up on my 1200 hr service and trying to figure out what parts/tools I need as the 1200hr is new territory for me...

Sounds like quite a complex set of steps digging into timing belt and pulling injectors etc. It seems doable if I take my time with it all, but then I just read this additional note in @chawk_man's spreadsheet :

"At 1200 hours it is recommended that the end play in the crankshaft thrust bearing be checked. Typically, you want to rely on a full service shop to do this. Maximum play = 0.0186 inches or 4 mm"

What's involved in checking this thrust bearing play? If I take to dealer will them end up stripping a lot of stuff down to get there, that I may as-well have them do the other service items at the same time?

No need for that, normal service plus all internal anodes. You don't do injectors, timing belt only if necessary, check for cracked ribbing. What year is your motor? If younger that 2013 the powerhead needs to come off to replace anodes on the lower water gallery.

it's an AK3 - around 2015 I think... belt looked fine last year when i looked at it - and was within the deflection tolerance if i recall, will review it again - but good to know not essential to replace...

There are 12 internal anodes in all to be done

Roger. Last 800hr I got the 6 cylinder sleeve jacket anodes and the 4 exhaust anodes, but skipped the 2 cylinder anodes as procedure as you say involved pulling the powerhead - which seemed to beyond my skillset :)

Yes, it's the dumbest thing Honda's ever done, put the commercial maintenance costs past astronomical. It's a big job but now they're there they must be done or problems with corrosion will be worse than before because of the screw that retains them
