2018 6.2 Mercruiser

I have a complete 2018 6.2 mercruser engine that came out of my 2018 Four Winns HD240.
I bought the boat in 2021 knowing that there was a problem with the engine. The boat was used by the previous owner for one year and set in storage for two before I bought it.
The motor has 42 hours on it but the block was cracked and during the height of covid I could not source a block to have the motor to be rebuilt. So I had had to just go the expense of have a new complete motor installed.
So with all that being said what would the complete motor I have be worth to someone knowing that the block needs replaced and the motor being rebuilt. It is complete with all harnesses.
These motors are not cheap as the new replacement engine cost roughly $18k.
Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks
 
check with your local marine salvage yards to see if they are interested...parting it out is usually not cost effective due to the time involved...

Yes it a stroked out 350 to 377.
But it’s a mercruser block, they changed in 2016. You can’t just use a GM block anymore. It has to be a mercruser because the heads and intake are not the same.

Couple choices I see are -

throw it on ebay as is for parts see if someone buys it.

Other option is to piece them out. Are the exhaust manifolds and cats ok? if they are not cracked I think these salt water wear items would sell as they are big $.

Not sure how much a new or factory reman long block costs to make it a running bobtail... If it were me I would want any of these parts or bobtail engine plus new long block to be 50-60% of a new engine for it to make sense to bother.

Everything is in good condition as the engine only had 42 hours. Obviously the block is cracked but overall it would be a good candidate for a rebuild because of the cost of a new engine. I am going to post on Mercruiser Parts for $2500 and see if anyone has interest.

What site is that - is it private classifieds? Couldn't find it in a quick search

A note of caution, if the deal looks too good, it most likely is.

But, there are a lot of good parts and deals.
