temp Guage on my 1999 BF50 Honda,

Question, i want to install a temp Guage on my 1999 BF50 Honda, can't figure out where to install the temp sensor on the motor. Serial Number BAZL-3002705

You can use a surface temp sensor. I did that on my 225 many years ago. I'll try to attach a writeup. The links may be out of date but easy to figure out. Main thing is to make sure that the sensor is compatible with the gauge.

doesnt the temp gauge go through the sensor up into the control box?
