Considering a used newer none running engine

This engine is a 020 Suzuki200HP I believe it’s a DF200BG bc it susposed to come w/ a DBW

Binnacal.

Reason it’s not running is either fuel pump or FP relay.seller claims it fires up w/ a shot of ether. I can test both, relay w/ a multimeter &

I could feel an hear the pump. This newer model Suzuki seams that the FP has been relocated from behind the intake to outside an forwad of intake compared to pre 020.

Couple ?s

  1. since engine turns over I could check compression what is good compression?
  2. I’m not seeing battery power lead wires.do see fuel line an a wire maybe harness. Do you Guys see anything else that’s missing?no battery leads.jpg
  3. how much fuel preasure is required. Like could I gravity feed fuel to see her run?
  4. while running change gears from forward to reverse.
  5. the port side of engine has a small box is that the computer? I believe the BCM is part of the BCM wire harness?portside.jpg

Any tips on testing this engine is appreciated.

no offense but you arent going to get very far without the FACTORY service manual. Asking a boat forum for items that can easily be found in the service manual seems like the hard way to start a project.

actuelly I was asking about something obviously missing? an a few tests like fuel preasure? I've always had evinrudes or my current Johnson so I'm not farminiarl w/ the suzukis.

my ?s are very basic that apply to all engines. I was hoping ppl would chime in an comment on the blackness on the starter selinoid like is normal flith or a burning up starter.
I'm also concerned about the amount of rigging that's claimed to be all included but I don't see much sticking out of engine. thanks

Hopefully you get it cheap.----There are no cheap repair parts for these things.
yes you right on prices, someone put a down payment on this engine the 1st day it was advertised. I believe it just needed a fuel pump. to bad I was 6 hours away to look.

add up all the rigging well over $2500. then engine around $10K asking price was $5500. which was said to includ all rigging. this is the 1st BG model (drive by wire)I've sean for sale.but now there 4 years old so I'll wait them out.

I'm learning about the suzuki rigging.
my big concern right now is redesigning the transome like when I elevate the engine bracket 5" I may have to deepen the splashwell I made so I can trim the engine all the way up.

the 5"s higher an I believe the suzuki is a taller engine may force me to extend the offset to 30"s which will require a new engine bracket.thanks

i'd say today's 4 strokes have a shelf life of around 10 years. gone are the days of 2 strokes that can be quickly rebuilt and give another 15 years of reliable service unfortunately.

I agree with revenge22, get a genuine Suzuki service manual. With your engine model and Vin# have a look at boats.net comparing what you have rigging wise vs the parts diagrams, might help. Fuel pressure spec for a 2009 DF90A is 36.3psi would ASSUME yours would be similar but don’t know for sure. A genuine Suzuki service manual would have that information. Compression range is listed at 171-256psi for my engine. Kind of nervous giving you Suzuki specs for an engine that is 11 years older and half the horsepower so please check/verify.
