    I do have a blower. Traditionally, I would run it only before starting the engine. I think I will run it while underway and leave it on after shut down. My guess it doesn’t use a lot of battery to run it after shut down. I’m also going to start monitoring the temperatures inside the engine...

    Kirk, the smart tabs work pretty good and are very economical. There only drawback is that although they are adjustable, they are not adjustable while on the water like the hydraulic ones are. I’m pretty happy with the smart tabs though.

    Yes, I do agree we have a vapor locking condition. As soon as my existing fuel supply gets close to empty, I will refuel with gas that is ethanol free.     My deck boat had terrible steering wandering until I installed Smart Tabs on the transom. They completely eliminated the problem. They also allowed me to get on plane much quicker and really tamed the bow rise coming out of the hole.
