    Engine quits when put in gear

    I have a '88 85 hp engine. Replaced fuel pump parts, and installed a new impeller. Those systems are working fine. Will run great if I can get it into gear without stalling. Trouble is that is a rare occasion. Guessing it's a linkage problem? Paul
