    1954 johnson qd15 10 hp 24-1 or 16-1 fuel ratio?

That information was written back when that engine was new. It's ancient history now with the advancement of 2 stroke oils. I would say 32:1 is good but smarter people then me will chime in.

    fuel tank

Update: After unsuccessfully locating a replacement fuel pick up/gauge, I got to looking closer at the new units without the vent and thought I just may be able to swap out the needed parts for mine. So I took a chance and ordered one from china for $15. Parts fit perfectly and now the tank is...

    fuel tank

I would have just stated that I am trying to locate the fuel pick up probe/gauge and left it at that. I would have if I'd known the correct terminology for it. :D If I can't find a NOS gauge (doubtful now), I'll just have to revert back to the time proven method of picking it up from time to...

    fuel tank

Ok, I'll try. The gas gauge is broke and the sight window is deteriorated so bad that even if the gauge was working you would not be able to see through it. The gauge and fuel connector are all one unit. This tank is not vented through the gas cap, it's vented by the fuel connector. As you can...

6 Gal Gas Fuel Tank Gauge

I've picked up a really clean 6gal fuel tank, but the fuel gauge is unreadable and useless. Any ideas where I can locate...

    Evinrude 70 head stuck

Soak them with penetration oil also. Do that for a couple days and try the heat again. If they still won't come out , then carefully drill them.

    '95 70hp question

I work part time at the town transfer station and a older 70hp Evinrude ('75-'92 ?)came in (didn't get model #) for disposal. Since I have a 70hp tiller (J70TTLEOR) I took the thrust bushing (318841) and 14x13 prop (391668) along with castle nut and spacer. My 70 thrust bushing is (127084)...

    Question on motor ID

If the model and SN on tag is illegible, is it safe to say the model # and SN on welsh plug is sufficient? I've been creating an inventory sheet on my motors etc, and the ID tag on my 15hp Johnson is more of a decal instead if stamped tag. The decal is unreadable now. The welsh plug has J15RCDE...

    Question on water pumps

Is there a rule of thumb about how old the water pump is in your motor, that it would be time to replace it even with very little usage ? I'm referring to the known number of years since you've replaced or had it replaced. I'm not talking about a motor that service is not known to you. Just...

    Spark plug

I've been using Champion QL77JC4 plugs in my 4.5,15 and 70hp Johnson's forever it seems. While looking for the correct gap, my friend looked it up on his cell and said the reccomended plugs have been changed to QL86C Champions for those engines. What's up with that??
