    1960 Evinrude Lark 40 HP boggs under load

    Just got this motor. Comes up to about 1/2 speed and tops out. Advance is working, Carb is clean. If the synchronization of the advance vs the carb is out of sync, could that be a cause? It seems like the magneto makes it's full advance before the butterfly opens. Thouhgts?? Steve

    Ratio for 1960 Evinrude Lark 40 HP

    I have found resources that say 24:1 for anything prior to 1964. Just bought a selco service manual that says 50:1. Can anyone shed some light on this? Thanks Steve [email protected]
