    Looking for Evinrude engine cover

I wasn't sure where to put this, but here it is. Looking for an engine cover for a 2009 90hp Evinrude. E90DPLSEE 09/2008. This site shows it to be part# 0285711 and 0285741 Unavailable. Brother lost his on a highway at night. Ouch. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. Roy

    Beware some carb gaskets.

I rebuilt the carbs last may when I overhauled my 88hp Evinrude.. First time out it ran great. Next time out not as well. Every time after my motor ran worse. I first did a compression check then a spark gap test of each cylinder, where as I sweating bullets because I was afraid I missed...

    Rough Idle, stalls, runns strong.

Found problem when I removed carb cover and squeezed primer bulb. Must've sucked something in my nice rebuilt carb. I'll report back after I correct the problem.

    Rough Idle, stalls, runns strong.

Ok. Compression on all 4 cylinders 115psi +/- 2psi. All 4 plugs removed and throttle open. It's an old hand held compression Gage, but I believe it's pretty consistent. Spark gap Gage set at 7/16+ and spark cracks across with a blue arc. Picture of all 4 spark plugs. Setting for fuel primer...

    Rough Idle, stalls, runns strong.

I have a 95 Evinrude 88 hp. E88TSLEOC. I overhauled this motor about 2 months ago. New pistons, rings, seals gaskets and stuff. I soaked and overhauled both carbs complete with new floats, seals and gaskets. Running oil at 25 to 1, per manual for break in purpose. That's 32oz of oil to 6...

    Motor won't stop.

I just finished overhauling an Evinrude 88 hp outboard, and I can not turn it off. I pulled the negative battery cable off the battery and it still won't stop running. I have to pull the fuel line and wait for it to run out of gas. Help.

    Suspected bad power pack

I just finished rebuilding my 1995 Evinrude 88 hp E88tsleoc. When I first tried to start it, I had spark only on #1 cylinder. I checked all connections and rechecked the wire color to the coils. I finally got a spark on all four cylinders, but it seemed a little sporadic like it was coming and...

    Thermostat asked question

I am changing my thermostats on a 1995 evinrude 88 hp E88TSLEOC. This picture shows how I removed them with the cork gasket on valve body side of thermostat The book shows cork on power head side Which is right? The thermostats never look like they have been replaced.

    Low compression

Ooh that's these that I pulled part way out, correct? they look like short pieces of fuel lines.

    Low compression

I do like the grafal coated pistons. We do that here where I work. It is a great antifriction coating. Just about all the NasCar pistons get it. We put that coating on all the Ford, Chrysler, Toyota, Polaris, steel heavy duty truck pistons and Mercury Marine pistons. If the parts are...

    Low compression

I got the ports edges smoothed over, along with a couple of cut knuckles. I received the engine kit today and I checked the piston to cylinder clearance with the paper strip that Timguy suggested. the kit came with ThreeBond 1184. Is this to seal crank case to block, or should I find the gel...

    Low compression

I just got the engine block from machine shop. Had to bore .030 to clean up cylinder. Getting ready to order complete kit with over size pistons, all bearings, seals, rod bolts and gaskets. I found a good used head for 80 bucks. After the carb kit, thermostats and water pump kit I should have...
