    I need to replace a spun prop on a 1968 Mercury 6hp. Original prop is 8 spline, right at 8 inches across. 3 blade. Will an 8 spline, 9 inch replacement prop fit?     New member prop question -1968

    I have a well performing 1968 6hp, 2 stroke Mercury outboard. My son struck a sand bar, spun prop. I have the engine serial number. Mercury has no online info for parts numbers from that year. Can anyone tell me where to shop for a new prop and the best way to determine which one will fit?
