    After letting the head gasket set a bit I can see where water may have got in. Going to go ahead and get new one and will do thermostat as long as the powerhead is off. Cant see anywhere else looks to have been leaking in. Will be sure to get the head flat!

    I am able to hit 6000 rpm on this motor according to my tiny tac. Is that a problem for this motor? Change prop to lower rpms? Thanks for any info as not sure what it should be.

    I picked up a old 1974 6 hp Johnson and one of the little lead shot fillers is missing from the carb. The price of them is ridiculous! Any reason that one cant be made from a pellet or shot from my reloading supplies or is it actually something special?
