    2000 50hp with lower unit gear carrier corrosion

    My motor has a leaking lower unit seal and the mechanic (honda dealer) can't get the nut off. Any good ideas or go-to mechanic or machine shop in the Annapolis area. The case isn't cracked...yet.

    Checking gear lube in the water?

    If there any way to check/change the gear lube in a 40 hp with the boat in the water? Everything I've read shows it being done with the motor vertical which puts the lower underwater.

    Will not idle without choke- Fuel pump? 1998 40 hp

    Motor is a 98 BF40A, starts ok but runs rough, needs choke on and fast idle arm up or it stalls. If I use the manual choke I can advance the throttle and it speeds up.     Whats a reasonable charge to clean carbs? 1998 40 hp

    Motor is a 1998 honda BF40a. Three carbs and not ideling without the choke on.

    Adding temp and water pressure gauge bf40a 2006 40 hp

    I want to add a temp gauge and water pressure gauge to my 2006 40hp motor. My instalation makes it hard to see the teltale and i don't trust the idiot light. Is there someplace to install the sensors without removing the current temp sensor.
