    86 Mercury 150 takes 5 to 8 minutes to warm-up

    ​My motor will not turn more than 3000 RPM with full throttle applied ( in or out of gear) for the first 5 to 8 minutes of operation. Once warm, it runs like a top for the rest of the day. In one instance, I loped out into the vacant, windy lake waiting for warm up where it then stranded me...
