    454 valve train noise $$?

    Getting ready to head for Catalina and port engine starts making a LOUD tapping noise. Mechanic comes down, compression checks good, 200 hrs on the engine. Pull the valve cover and rockers and on valve looks like it has receeded into the keeper. Keeper is still there but the top of the valve...

    454 Crusader coil resistor

    1987 454's. Anyone know th 1987 454's. Anyone know the purpose of the coil ballast resistor. I've blown one on each engine now. Engine will start and run as long as key is held in start position. Release key -- engine stalls. In an emergency will it do damage to wire around the resistor?
